10.02.07-Salt Lake City

Being that ticket sales were low for SLC and that we were playing in the small room of this venue again (after opening for Wolf Mother in the big room), I must admit that I was skeptical of how this show was going to go. However, I was pleasantly surprised as I saw a slew of people lining up outside along the orangey wall before doors open. Then, I was even more taken aback when it came show time because this was probably one of the most hype audiences we've had on this tour. Literally, they didn't stop the whole show through. I loved it. Some many people were cheering and jumping all through out the whole event. The energy of the crowd was so great that I forgot about my being ill, and was inspired to play my best. Since we go back from St. Louis, I'd been struggling with a cold despite all the vitamins and healthy measures I had been partaking in. I feel great today. I think I sweat it all out. Many thanks SLC. I can't wait to come back.

By the way, I didn't take any pictures this day, but I'm hoping to find some online. So, if you took pictures of this show, please post them, e.g. flickr.com; I will give you credit for your work, of course. Much love!

Yea, I was talking to Boyd and he told me about ticket sales. SLC is kinda weird that way. People wait until the last minute here a lot. It is pretty tough on promoters, I would think. I guess you guys really were inspired because I definitely had to agree about you playing your best. I can't wait for you guys to come back, either. :)

I do have photos. I'm just going through them still. Not overly impressed with my photo taking skills Tuesday, but I will have them up soon. I'll let you know.

I'm so glad you're feeling better. I was a little worried that you were out talking to us in the cold and feeling a tad guilty.

P.S. I ran into more than a few people from that Wolfmother show that are now big Mute Math fans. :)
You guys are what I would call an artist favorite because a lot of artists I talk to are big fans of yours... secular and Christian markets both.

I am uploading some pics now. I still have quite a few to go through and some to convert from raw files.

Anyway, the pics are here:

:) Oooh, Darren. Nice pic.
Ok, ok. I know. This is Roy's blog, not Darren's.

Focus, Jen... Focus.
I've been sick, too. Does that cut me a little slack?
